New Homes and Faciliities
The proposals are for 1,250 new homes, offering a mix of 1, 2, 3, and 4 bed family homes. There will be a 25% affordable housing provision.
The scale and appearance of the new homes will reflect the size and type of buildings in the local area. Most buildings will be 2 storeys in height with some at 2.5 or 3 storeys.
Details of the design will be subject to future planning submissions. However the development will be sensitively designed in a traditional Kentish style, using high quality materials.
Following discussions with Medway Council, our proposals include a new primary school, close to the centre of the new village. The school will be easily accessible on foot or cycle from the whole of the new development as well as the wider area.
Care Home & Extracare facility
The first phase of the development will include a 60-room continuing care retirement facility– allowing older people to live more independently for longer – and an 80-bed care home. As well as providing high quality homes and support for older people, these facilities will create new jobs for local people. They will also be sited in the heart of the new village, ensuring the residents can play a full and active part in the new community.
